Break ups break us.

The pain can linger for days, months, or several life cycles.
Usually, I hide heartbreaks under my bed, hoping they will stop haunting me one day. Not this one. I dragged it out, laid my heart on the butcher table, inspected every scratch, every wound, sang it love songs. I healed. And, I wrote often.
